I have a fascination with self-built houses. How amazing and appealing is it to build a home with your own two hands out of, say, clay, sand and straw and have no mortgage? And with your own love and sweat going into every bit? Well, maybe not just your own. Your own and anyone who loves you enough or is fascinated enough to jump in, too. Enjoy Meka’s Cottage, up above. I watch this and dream, on occasion. I think it’s good to nurture your imagination in directions you’d like to go, though a girl has to watch out for coveting the green grass over there until you can’t pry a notion out of her cold, dead hands. That’s going a bit far.
I’ll add more to this as the day goes along… looking for our friend Clare’s cob building blog- she’s building a house in her spare time. With two small children. Like you do, you know.
Happy morning, more soon.

Well Clare, that’s perfect. I didn’t even need to find your site, you went and came over! Thanks so much- I’d love to show everyone here in the Katyspot what you’re up to. Squeeze the little ones, hoping to get to Athens in May, hear there’s a good party.
