Have you heard of Outstanding in the Field?  They’re the touring rock stars of the local food movement.  They set up a literal “moveable feast” in farms, greenhouses, and other beautiful and fertile places all the world over.  Using the food and resources locally available, they create a special, one-time gourmet experience, with food as close to its source as possible.  Through class, excellence, and creativity, they are educating people (and at $180 a plate, we can assume we’re largely dealing with influential folks) about the goodness and and importance of supporting and celebrating one’s local food.

Thanks to local chef and maker of beautiful food and moments, Martha Stamps, Outstanding in the Field is coming to Nashville.  And we get to make music for it.  And eat, oh happy day.  What an amazing treat, and what a worthy happening for us to invest ourselves in.  Every time we get to play a “good food” event- the James Beard benefit dinner, Saturday mornings at the Nashville Farmer’s Market,  Outstanding in the Field- we are honored and feel like we’ve put our talents to good use.The event around here will be in Columbia, Tennessee on September 13 at Arugula’s Star Farm.  If you’d like to snag one of the remaining reservations, go here.

Gorgeous. I’m glad you get to feed their ears with your beautiful music while they feed their bellies!

Katy - that’s SO awesome! I can’t believe you guys get to play music at that! Oh, how I wish it wasn’t so expensive! Josh and I went to a similar thing last summer at Madison Creek Farm, but it wasn’t nearly as big of an event. You’ll have to tell me all about it!
